25 Day Yogathon

Tomorrow is the first day of December.

Wow.

Where did 2011 go?

Seriously.

I swear it was just yesterday I was gearing up for summer. And now, it’s practically winter. Granted it’s been in the 60s all week but that’s not the point.

Point is, time FLIES.

As I am sure you have noticed in my past few blog posts, I have been in a stuck place recently. The other night I had tea with a friend and she said, “T, you’re only as stuck as you want to be”.

Powerful words right there! Most of the time we are stuck because we are afraid of action. Because being stuck is at least familiar. So what if we’re not going anywhere, at least we can complain about it and feel somewhat better.

Well I don’t want to be afraid anymore of the unknown. I want to take action. Except this time, I am not going to make decisions based on my head. I am going to make decisions based on my heart.

So I decided in honor of the 25 days of Christmas, I am going to do a 25 day yogathon.

25 days of yoga everyday (mind).

25 days of no refined sugar (body).

25 days of 15 minutes of meditation everyday (soul).

25 days of detoxing the body, the mind and the soul.

By focusing on cleaning and strengthening the will, my heart will lead me to the right path.

The holidays really stirs up a lot of emotions and definitely a sense of frenzy. This year, I want to stay grounded and focused on my intention. Just be. This moment is the perfect moment because it’s the only moment we’re guaranteed.

Join me! 25 days of doing one thing to cleanse your mind, body and soul.

I’ve already rallied up some troops in the real world – I’d love to have my online sangha participate as well. Follow the hashtag #25yogathon

Namaste.

As someone who created a blog for the purpose of finding balance with Mind, Body, and Soul, you already know that I LOVE it! I'm just coming to the end of a "yogathon" of sorts myself (the Blissology challenge), and I wish I would've formed a tribe for accountability as I really found myself slacking and making excuses at times. But despite missing elements of my commitments on several days, I was able to step back and become more aware of how much better I felt when I did focus on those things that are important to me to find balance! Here were the commitments:1. Yoga2. Meditation3. Food Awareness4. Nature Appreciation5. Gratitudehttp://www.blissology.com/cart/blissologychallenge.phpKick a$$ on your yogathon T – I'm rooting for you!

All the best to your commitment! I have a feeling you'll be fighting temptation quite often in terms of lazing around and inhaling goodies.

I feel like I just got into the hang of writing "2011" on my checks. You're telling me I have to memorize a whole new year now?! :-) I love your 25 Days challenge, and while part of me wants to hop on board, my biggest challenge right now is finding new Christmastime traditions for me and my husband to enjoy. Our big tradition used to be going to the World of Disney store in NYC and getting our photo with Santa Goofy, but then that branch closed and the new store is ten times less awesome. I feel like we lost a bit of our Christmas spirit, and I'm eager to find something to fill the void.
