I am sitting in my kitchen drinking tea. Thinking of the big questions. The meaning of our short, quick lives.
It really is the simple little things that bring pure happiness.
Can we sit with that? Can we allow the grace of presence to shine our moments?
As I watch my tea, my thoughts travel far and wide. Our mind is capable of so much. But even thinking about a sweet memory does not bring me peace, for our past is as inaccessible as our grasp for a perfect future. No my sweet readers, the only place where perfection lies, is right now, feeling the warm cup against my skin, the sweet liquid dancing on my tongue.
We know this to be true. Deep within our souls, we know that only when we open ourselves to this very second can we touch the infinite bowl of happiness.
Funny thing is, even when we know, even when we experience this happiness time and time again, we forget. We become wrapped up in our heads once more and yearn to get something more out of life. As if that one thing more will secure our peace.
It’s ok. All of it is ok. You will remember the eternal truth and you most definitely will feel happy again. Trust the process. Trust your faith.
I asked the twitter world to send me some images of their tea. As you can see – despite differences in mugs, everyone has the time to sit with a cup of brew. Can we make this time a time of being? Can we at least dedicate one activity to complete mindfulness? I think so.

I love how so many people participated in creating this post through their photos. I am on my second cup of tea, decaf of course as it is a bit chilly in the office this morning. Great post!

Yes, I second what Diane said – LOVE how you brought a sense of "community tea time" out here by compiling everyone's pics! I write this as I whisk up my first cup of matcha green for the day! With a few nibbles of chocolate of course…
