Sprout Yoga

Happy Saturday dear readers! I just finished teaching a donation based class and am currently sipping my morning decaf (remember I went caffeine free half a year ago? Woah, has it really been half a year since I stopped drinking soda/caffeine? Craziness!), and getting ready to delve knee deep in a brand new exciting project.

Before I announce what this new project is, a few other announcements.

If you haven’t read my post on my thoughts of yoga and running over at Yoga for the Long Run, go read it now!
As I am sure you have noticed, my header has changed! I had put an intention a few months ago to have a little drawing made up for my blog but I didn’t know of any cartoon artists so I just kept the thread of thought out there. One day, the beautiful Cat stumbled into my life and offered to work on a little sketch for me. I was happily surprised when I saw her masterpiece. Far from a little sketch, her drawing is EXACTLY what I had envisioned. Thank you so much Cat!! If you would like to see her other works, go visit her page!! AND today is her birthday – so what are you waiting for? Send some love her way!
And now, to the meat of this post (er.. or should I say the vegetable of this post?)

ANYWAY

A few months ago, I found a website called Sprout Yoga. This not for profit organization seeks to spread the message of healing eating disorders through yoga. If there’s ONE thing I always want you readers to get from my blog is that yoga and therapy were my salvation for my binge eating (not to say I’m healed by any means, but at least I have the tools to get there). So how PERFECT is this organization for me?!? I mean, when I found the webpage my jaws dropped to the ground. I want in.

So I reached out to them. And the other day I received a call from the CEO herself, the beautiful , energetic, passionate Maggie, and by the end of the conversation I had a new project lined up.

I am officially going to take an active role in Sprout’s online presence. Everything from their twitter account, to their blog, to their newsletter.

When I got off the phone with Maggie, I just stood there stunned. Can I really do this? Do I have the experience? The time?

After a deep breath my heart screamed YES. This is exactly the sort of thing I love doing. And what better way of using my developing skills than to elevate Sprout to a whole new level?

It really helps that I am very passionate about yoga. And eating disorders. And holistic health. And social media.

Pretty much this is the best thing ever. I’m super excited.

And that’s about all I have for you folks today! Just a quick update on the ebbs and flows of my life.

I will close off with a quote that I am obsessed over and made the theme of my class this am.

“How easy is it to move through our days as if we were in some dress rehearsal for real life – despite the nagging suspicion that this is it, that real life is right here, right now. How, then, shall we make it count? How do we find our way?” Meditations from the Mat by Rolf Gates

Namaste.
