Today is a busy day for my little blog!! I want to share with you a guest post from the beautiful Deepika Mittra and I also want to discuss my blast from past post. AH so much goodness in one day!
So let’s start out by introducing Deepika. We “met” on twitter and I was very excited to have her come on my blog and share a word or two. Without further ado, here’s her post for you!
Tune In or Tune Out

As I considered what to write for Thais’ blog, I couldn’t help but recall how it was we first connected. I noticed her post on Twitter: Sadhana this morn was 15 min meditation and a Rumi poem. I wish I had time for more but body refuses to get up before 7 these days.
I thought it was great Thais was honoring what her body needed! It was easy for me to congratulate her on this feat. Yet as I sat with it, I recognized that I am often quite hard on myself in this regard. Often I demand more, want more, and carry a sense of dissatisfaction with the amount that I do. In that moment I realized that my body helps regulate these often-unrealistic commands.
So how do we decide when to Tune In or Tune Out to our bodies? Unfortunately, even on the yoga mat, I admit that I’ve had moments more on the out than on the in! It can be quite difficult to sit with pain or discomfort. The mind shifts and suddenly, I’m elsewhere…the shopping list, the chores, even work, can seem easier to think of than what I am sensing in my body.
The information from the body is constant and exists in the present moment. As I blogged about in the past, we have to determine when to
Power Down or Power Through. The point I missed then, was that unless we Tune In, we will never have the ability to make an informed choice about our next steps.
Deepika Mittra:

Her work is about a passion – a constant reminder to keep taking care of herself and to help others on their journey to do the same. She provides individual, relationship and family therapy, as well as facilitates Mind Body group sessions and Wellness Initiatives. She also blogs regularly at www.openingspaces.ca
Thanks Deepika for your words!
And now onto my blast from past pick of the day. Today, I want to reintroduce a post I wrote titled “If Not Now, When?” When I wrote the piece, I was starting to realize just how exciting and quickly my path was unfolding in front of me. I knew what I wanted and I couldn’t get it fast enough. I was caught up in a whirlwind of goodiness and I had a lot of wisdom to share!
You can read that post HERE.
Namaste.

"Today I took care of me…" what a motto, i love it. I have been living and making decisions by it for the last 6 months since needing to be especially careful with my time and energy. Even to the cutest of boys, the most exciting invitations and grandest ideas I've had to stop and say no if it does not serve me. This is a radical transformation for me and Im proud to say I am getting better at it. Letting out the Lioness! (Im a Leo) roar!!xo, Diane
