When the Jealousy Hits…

Sometimes we get bogged down by other people’s successes. Rather than be happy for our friends for their achievements, we fester our resentment and twinge of jealousy. We think “why not me”? “Why isn’t my hard work paying off”? “Why don’t I have the wife/husband, the raise, the financial security, the children that she/he does?” Does this sound familiar to you? I have felt these same feelings before and when I did I felt pretty bad about myself. Suddenly all my accomplishments and hard work felt insignificant. It’s not a pleasant feeling.

This is when it’s helpful to remember the law of attraction. You attract what you put out. If you are a positive person, you will attract positive situations and positive people. The same goes if you hold negativity inside. Remember-  your exterior world is a reflection of your interior world.

So how does this relate to jealousy? Well, I have good news! Abundance is those around you means YOU are manifesting it.

Let’s break that down a little bit. Debbie Ford speaks a lot on this subject. She tells us that if we desire something, it’s because we are capable of attaining it. God does not give us the ability to want something without also giving us the ability to achieve it. She then asks us to think of a person we look up to and write down a list of ten qualities that you like about that person. Could be Oprah, your mother, a boss, your niece, whomever. The ten qualities you write down are actually ten qualities that you yourself possess! Again, if you desire something, you have the innate ability to have it. You just have to tap into it!

So the fact that everyone around you is accomplishing things means that you are attracting that sort of energy AND that means that you yourself are on the cusp of accomplishing great things too.

So when the jealousy bug bites, keep that chin up. Awesome things are happening all around you AND to you too. The Universe takes care of its children. You have the potential to manifest everything you dream of. Remember this my friends for this thought is true empowerment. You too will see success in all its beautiful glory.

Namaste.

  1. This is such a great post. I know I’ve spoken before on how jealous I can become of other success. But to realize that wonderful things are happening to those close to you is an amazing way to view life positively.

Leave some love!
